Here's my Custom Painted toilet seats listed from the most recent to the oldest.   You can see how my flames get a little better every time.  These take a lot of practice and there's more to them than people think.  I've sold most of these unless they're for family or fun.

Summer 2007--Decided to make one for myself.  The idea was to have one the color of my Monte Carlo and it's complement-orange.  It just so happens that I had more Sunburst Orange and it turned out excellent!  Dupont and PPG basecoats and Omni clear.

Summer 2007--Made this for a good friend, Willie.  This is the color on his '68 Camaro, GM Sunburst Orange, and the flames with a hint of silver because he wanted the ghost flame look.  This one turned out great.  Wet sanded and buffed too!  PPG base and Omni Clear.

Summer 2007--I painted this for a dealership I worked for for over three years for their one and only toilet in the shop!  Since they never had a lid, I had to do just a seat that I picked up at Home Depot.  And since there was not enough room for flames, I decided that scallops would be more appropriate.  The blue is a 90s Ford blue that actually looks really good.  The flames are GM Hugger Orange provided by a friend that I was suppose to use to stripe my Monte with.  I added some gold metal flake in the scallops and made my own cardboard template to tape off of symmetrically.  I learned a lot because I never did one of these and didn't realize that they had high spots so I found that out when I sanded through with 800 grit!  I had to touch it up a bit, but it still turned out nice.  I didn't tape off the little feet that touch the rim of the toilet because I figured it would chip off when the seat slams down.  Made with good Dupont/PPG basecoats and Omni clear.

Summer 2007--Finally I made one for Rachel.  Special factory GM color used on new Tahoe's, Suburban's, Escalade's, Equinox's, Grand Prix's and more called Bermuda Blue.  The flames are some sort of GM green and I added gold metal flake to the base color.  Painted with two stage base/clear Dupont and Omni in a spray can.  The blue is cool because it changes to a green-like color in the sun--very nice, even though this lid won't be seeing any sun!

Winter 2006-- I made this toilet seat for a co-worker who was to give it to his brother.  I think it's a Ford truck blue with silver flames.  Silver is popular here.

Summer 2006--Made this one for Nick.  The color was the Victory Red that used to be on his S-10.  The flames are the GM truck pewter.  PPG and Dupont colors, Omni clear.

Spring 2006--Made this one for my friend John.  The color is the color of his T-Type and the flames are his blue with some silver added.  The bottom is not so much a shadow, but actually I faded the flames from the blue to the silver-blue.  Two stage base/clear.

Christmas 2004--Made this for a friend to give to her dad for the garage.  I still had to spray the base white because it was a toilet seat that was gray.  These colors are your Wal-Mart model paint enamels and I had to extend the flames due to the elongated toilet seat.  Very simple, but unique design, the way I like it.

Christmas 2004-- I was busy the Christmas of 2004 making three toilet seats for the holiday.  This was made for my teacher Jack who teaches my GM ASEP class at Catonsville.  He picked the colors.  I don't remember what the red it, but its urethane paint with enamel flames and the entire seat has been clear coated in urethane clear.  Nothing beats the urethane clear, looks like glass.

Christmas 2004-- I made this toilet seat to give away at our family's Chinese gift exchange for the Christmas of '04.  Every Christmas eve, our family has a get together and a gift exchange is one of the activities we have.  This toilet seat I wanted to make a little feminine so it would be a "hot" item and it sure was a hit.  Cousins Christi and Wayne ended up with it, hope they enjoy.  This is automotive urethane paint and the color is Plymouth prowler base and for the flames I added a hint of silver to give it a "ghostly" look.  I also added a gold metal flake when I sprayed the base.  This was one of the few that I didn't encounter any problems.

Fall 2004--This was a request from a friend of my mom's.  She got it for her son I believe.  Anyway, nice flame design, kept it simple and the base is a regular black (no pearl.)  Sold for $25 or $30, can't remember.

Summer 2004--This was the first time I tried a "Candy" color.  I made this toilet seat for my Uncle Mike and Aunt Dotti for a thank you gift for what they gave me for my graduation.  For my graduation, my parents bought my friend Mike and I one-way tickets to Las Vegas where we stayed with my Uncle and Aunt for 4 days and they gave me their 88 Buick Reatta! So Mike and I drove 3,000 miles home for our Road trip of a lifetime!  Anyway, about the seat...My Aunt Dotti likes green so I wanted a neat candy green.  To begin, I based the entire lid in gold, then from about 2 feet away, misted an emerald green over top the gold until I had a good coat of green, not too much to cover the gold underneath though.  Then the scallops are a metallic plum.  It was my dad's idea and it turned out great!

Winter 2003--What you see above is my second toilet seat I painted with the 2 stage basecoat/clear coat paint that you use to paint cars.  I used a Porsche Silver and a Ford Truck dark blue that my cousin gave me.  Wes gave me a bunch of leftover paints and it's just enough paint to do these toilet seats.  Anyway, I added gold metal flake in the clear, you can kind of get a glimpse of it in the blue flames on the right side.  This is the first seat I've tried with what I call "double flames" because there are flames inside of flames.  This offered a little challenge because I had to cut the fine line for the bottom flames just perfect.  This was a surprise for my Auto Tech Instructor at my high school from our class.  I made this and the class got a picture of us all together while the teacher wasn't paying attention and we put our picture under the seat and signed under the lid.  It turned out to be a great thank you gift for everything he taught us.  Thank you Mr. Leister!

Spring 2003--This toilet seat is base-coated in a "Black n' Blue Pearl" with traditional white to yellow to orange flames.  I got this paint scheme from a truck in a magazine.  This turned out great.  I took it to yet another KKOA car show in Gettysburg where my father and I met George Barris and I got him to sign it.  If you're unfamiliar with George Barris, he is one of the most known car customizer of the 50s and 60s.  He built the original Bat-mobile, The Munster coach, Monkeemobille (From the Monkees) and on and on.  Visit www.Barris.com for more on George Barris.  So I didn't try to sell this one, as it is hanging on my wall with my first Kustom Krapper in my room.
